Sinofibre optical networks
Sino Fibre Communications "Sino Fibre" was established to provide international marketing and sales for Sino-Con Telecomm Group Co., Ltd. "Sino-Con" via an exclusive partnership agreement.
Sino-Con is a fully licensed Chinese broadband carrier that provides broadband services to telecommunications providers. Sino-Con owns a 32,000-km optical fiber network that covers 156 cities in the 31 provinces in China, with particular focus on service provision for the greater Shanghai area (150 million people) and the Pearl River Delta (200 million people).
We have executed an MOU with Sino-Con regarding exclusive rights to resell bandwidth to (non-Chinese) international carriers and companies that require access to the Chinese market. This exclusive access includes traffic both terminating and originating from China as well as Chinese domestic inter-city (WAN) and intra-city (MAN) connectivity. In the short-term, we will focus on wholesale IP bandwidth sales to these international carriers, but will shortly be adding additional international products as well as many value added services.
A particularly strong and growing piece of this network is the development of MANs, with a planned increase in the number of MANs over the short term. Local access is central to provide in-city content delivery from its facilities. We will target international providers who want to tap this resource and require high-capacity, cross-border infrastructure in order to do so.
Sino-Con also operates an optically switched network, which will allow us to focus on the international Ethernet market and provide wholesale voice services. With the network's available capacity, our partner will be deploying gigabit Ethernet in the wide area network. For the Ethernet market, we'll introduce an on-demand-pricing model, which will allow customers to customize their own networks.
In the coming year, we will concentrate on providing access to this network via our partners existing services which include: wholesale dark fibre and ducts, managed bandwidth, Transport and wavelength services, leased circuits, co-location; managed modem, voice and data services, and IP services.
